Social Responsibility
We are a boutique swimwear brand offering exclusive products, handmade with love. We endeavor to improve our company each and every day, with a strong commitment both to our success as women entrepreneurs in Central America, and to the development of a socially beneficial business model that helps create a better world in the process.
When you purchase Dkoko, not only do you receive a high-quality product designed in Costa Rica with the wellbeing of the planet in mind, but you also help support a small business creating positive impact in our region.
Production House
At Dkoko, we are proud to offer quality products handmade by our local sewing team in our very own production house in Granada, Nicaragua. Granada is a town famous for the skilled craftsmanship of the artisans who live there, which is why we chose to set up our shop six years ago in this special place, home to talented textile workers.
Dkoko designers went to live in Nicaragua to personally train our manufacturing team, since sewing swimwear was new to their repertoire of textile talents. After that first year of learning together, we have perfected our teamwork, incorporating traditional weaving skills into our designs and achieving the level of quality Dkoko is known for among our ocean-loving clients around the world.
Currently, our sewing shop staffs 8 full-time employees, who all receive maximum working benefits, including health insurance, social security and pension funds, two days off per week, a month of paid vacation per year, and double salary through the month of December

She grew up in a small town in the south of Costa Rica where she could enjoy the breathtaking moutains of Chirripó & Talamanca. She always wished to explore the coastline and this wish became fulfilled when she decided to move by the sea when she was 20 years old. She packed her suitcase and left on her own to start a new life.
A couple of years later she met Veronica who offered her to become part the Dkoko team in our Santa Teresa boutique.
"In that moment my heart told me I had to do it and it was one of the best decisions in my life. Now I belong to a great work team, that allows me to keep living my dream, between bikinis, bright sunsets, and refreshing salty waves."
